Students give Bekaert's fabrics a second life

Students of the fashion school in Ghent, have designed cushions made from Bekaert's left-off fabrics. These cushions can be admired in 'Het Groot Vleeshuis' in Ghent.

Bekaert Textiles member of the voka Health Community

Bekaert Textiles has recently become a member of the voka health community. The Health Community is a network of entrepreneurs, care professionals, knowledge centers and patients in Flanders that work together to develop solutions for the health care. This cross-pollination leads to the development of shared knowledge and the implementation of innovations with a social and public added value. The Health Community wants to contribute to the strenghtening and the anchorage of the white economy in Flanders.

Meditiss wins I2C award with Sensotiss

The Sensotiss^® mattrass cover wins an award on Expo 60+ (a fair in Mechelen, Belgium). Sensotiss^® is a first commercial application of the 'smart wrap' that also won an award at Interzum.

 Sensotiss^®also ended up in second place for the price of the public.

SENSOTISS® FP is an innovative technology that monitors the activity of bedridden people. Human movement is detected through a closed system created out of a synthetic optical cable and a digital electronic module. The system gives a signal when a person is about to fall out of his bed.

 The Smart Wrap^® presentado en el Interzum es una cubierta de colchón de control de respiración. Esta cubierta con sensores integrados registra la respiración del individuo, adulto o bebe, y envía una alarma al teléfono móvil si la respiración se detiene por mas de 10 segundos.

El control de respiración es la primera y la más importante aplicación del Smart Wrap^®, pero el Smart Wrap con tecnología de fibra óptica puede también medir el tiempo total de permanencia en la cama, la presencia o la ausencia, la posición al dormir, el insomnio o dormir bien, puntos de presión y la separación del colchón.
