Bekaert Australia is opened.

1970, 1992

Change of ownership

In 1970 Bekaert is acquired by WR GRACE & CO, USA.

In 1992 Bekaert Textiles becomes a member of Gamma Holding. Gamma Holding is one of Europe's largest textile groups and shapes Bekaert Textiles into a multinational company with production units in 7 countries worldwide and headquarters in Belgium.

1999-2007

New openings and acquisitons

Global footprint, from a Belgian company with 96% export to a multi-national company.

In 1999 Bekaert starts production in the USA. In 2000 Schoedel, a German competitor, is taken over by Bekaert Textiles. Bekaert Textiles Wuxi in China starts up in 2003. In 2004 Bekaert Textiles acquires Textiles & Deseños in Argentina followed by Telartex Group in Mexico. Bekaert Textiles Turkey is opened in 2007.
